Paint, Ink & Coating
Paints and Coatings industry prefer Coated PCC as compared to GCC as it is more pure and ability to obtain whiter due to low impurities it also improves the uniformity of colour due to less particles.
Coated Nano PCC is found in high grade coating or paint, usually used in aviation industry and industries that require high grade paint or coating. Not only it provides high brightness for finished product, the ability to control particle morphology as well as particle size distribution (PSD) makes PCC a unique class of titanium dioxide (TiO2) extender.
Nano PCC to paint can cause dense lithopone to stay in suspension and not sink to bottom. It increases whiteness without reducing covering liability, prevent settling in latex paint and reduces the amount of dispersant needed.
With Nano PCCs better packing density, it enhances paints’ degree of brightness and surge hiding power. It also heighten scrub and crack resistance of paint. Coated Nano PCCs also boost the hydrophobic and thixotropic properties of solvent based paints.
Adamas Mineral’s crystal shaped Nano PCCs are of high brightness and fineness are key elements to improve
♦ Dry and wet brightness
♦ Dry and wet hiding power
♦ Low sheen level in matt paints
♦ Scrub resistance and wash ability
Nano PCCs can be used to control the rheology of offset printing inks systems. It helps to reduce misting with high speed printing applications. Inks with Nano PCC also have shorter grinding times as it improves the dispensability of difficult pigments by maximising the tack and inducing higher shear forces in the milling process.
In addition, the improvements to dispersion also allow the reduction of costly coloured pigments without distressing the colour strength.
